This California Dew Is Just A Little Heavier Than Usual

Gene Kelly is one of the greatest performers of all-time. He was a singer, dancer, actor, and director.

Here he is in two of the GREATEST scenes in the history of film.

Tap dancing on roller skates in Its Always Fair Weather..
(Be careful watching this, his joy is infectious)

Fairuz

I found out about Fairuz in my Arabic class - she's a famous Lebanese singer who popularized arabicized jazz in Beirut in the 50's.

This song is called: I Love You In The Summer

This song is called: I Believe
This is what she is saying...
I believe that behind the beads Allowadat boasts gardens
I believe that behind the night above the waves Alati SE
I believe that the heart is placed into mourning deliver compassion ... Full of faith
I believe that behind the cyclone winds lips reciting prayers
I believe that the universe locked in silence to listen to me
I am yearning for my eyes as the sky cleared the lights above tunes ... Full of faith

How beautiful!

The Man Who Couldn't Stop Running

A collage by Joo Mo Kang about a man with extreme will power and astounding stamina- his name, Louis Zamperini.
Time Magazine writes about him, "...by high school, Zamperini was a phenomenally gifted miler with astounding stamina and a hip-rolling, ground-eating seven-foot stride. But long before then, it was apparent that he had something even rarer and less easily explicable inside him: a chronic restlessness, something beyond even willpower, that wouldn't allow him to give up even when going on was no longer endurable."  He later fights in WWII and survives a Japanese POW camp.  Read more here.
